The group aims to conduct quantitative literary studies on literary works themselves and on their various metadata. This implies the use of statistical methods in quantitative textual analysis along the lines of distant reading: stylometry, quantitative genre studies, research into multimedial writing (e.g. blogs), literary geography, corpus building.

The objective of the working group is to develop a dedicated infrastructure and to collect resources for the purposes of interdisciplinary studies on intercultural and multimodal communication in the area of translation studies, language acquisition, learning, and teaching, discourse analysis, conversational analysis and management of specialist knowledge.
